One Bad Thing About China's Pro-Capitalist Reforms

The advocates of capitalism, whether it's capitalism that is fettered a little (liberalism) or completely undisturbed capitalism, are always praising the pro-capitalist reforms made in China after Mao Zedong's death. What these free-market zealots fail to notice is the down side of the capitalist reforms. One of the bad things to emerge, or reemerge rather, from these reforms is the traditional Chinese concubine.

Concubines have existed in China since ancient times. They are outmoded family structures that are openly sexist, and therefore shouldn't exist in the 21st Century. In a concubine, a man pretty much purchases women and basically owns them. He has one (maybe more) older, loyal wife and some younger wives. All of these wives must obey him. A concubine is a way of keeping women as pets.

Under Mao, when China was still truly socialist, sexist traditions such as concubines were suppressed. Now Chairman Mao is dead, and the Pseudo-Communist Party of China has caused concubines to flourish.

A lot of poor Chinese women must enter the revived concubines because it's the only way for them to escape poverty. Many rich Chinese businessmen and "Communist" Party officials now have concubines. Not only do they use these concubines to dominate women financially and sexually, they also use them to show off their high status in society.

All of the female comrades who fought and died in the Chinese Communist Revolution, which promised to give women and poor people equality, are now tossing and turning in their graves. Just as I began to think the capitalist roaders couldn't stab the revolution in the back anymore than they already have, this craziness happens. What next, compulsory foot mutilation...er... I mean binding?

Israel Dehydrates Palestine

The Middle East is in its fifth consecutive year of drought. Israel has several major water supplies. The biggest underground water reserve Israel has is almost entirely located in the West Bank.

Much of the West Bank is under illegal Israeli occupation, at least as far as the international community is concerned. The water reserve in the West Bank is also under illegal Israeli occupation, and obviously Israel is pumping (I should say stealing) water from it. The Israeli military administration in charge of the occupied Palestinian territories sold all of the water in the West Bank and Gaza Strip (Palestinian territories) to the Israeli National Water Corporation in 1982. So the Israelis have stolen water that doesn't belong to them, they have stolen the Palestinians' water supplies.

Palestinians only have access to 90 liters of water per day per capita. The Israelis get 284 liters per day per capita. The World Health Organization says the minimum requirement for a healthy nation should be at least 137 liters per day per capita. There should be no doubt in anybody's mind that the Palestinians would get enough water if Israel wasn't stealing it from them. If both sides could work something mature out regarding the water situation, then that would also help. Unfortunately, the Israeli death profiteers aren't willing to let that happen.

The Israeli Water Corporation often cuts off the Palestinians' water supply. The Israeli government also refuses to grant Palestinians permits to dig wells. The Israelis also impose a limit on the amount of water Palestinians can use, but an unlimited amount of water is pumped for people in Israel and Jewish settlers in occupied Palestinian territories.

The World Bank has found that Israelis have access to four times as much water as Palestinians. The World Bank said that the water allocations currently in place don't satisfy the needs of the Palestinian people. World Bank findings also state that water quality is lower for the Palestinians than the Israelis. It also noted that Palestinians are dependent on water supplies that are controlled by Israel.

Drug Corruption In Afghanistan

Opium is the drug Afghanistan mainly produces and exports (illegally). So when I say "drugs" in this article, I really mean to say, "mostly opium and probably a smaller amount of other drugs."

80% of the world's drugs come from Afghanistan. The production of harmful drugs in Afghanistan has increased by 44% since Soviet troops left the country around the end of the Soviet Union's time on Earth.

NATO commanders have admitted that if drugs were smuggled past them in Afghanistan, they wouldn't interfere. They'd just let the drugs continue to be smuggled to their destination. Some leaders of countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States (former members of the USSR) also expressed disinterest in trying to stop drug production and smuggling in Afghanistan, even though a large percentage of illegal drugs in their countries comes from Afghanistan.

Drugs are often smuggled out of Afghanistan on US military airplanes, and you can safely bet that a good portion of those drugs are coming to the US. Drug trafficking in Afghanistan brings in about $50 billion US dollars each year. That is why very few people want to stop this. Too many people, including Americans involved with the government and military, are making money off of Afghanistan's drugs.

One of the many reasons Obama wants to negotiate with the Taliban is so he can use them and their drugs to destabilize Central Asia. He probably wants to do this so he can weaken the Russian and Chinese economies (since those two countries often benefit from working and trading with Central Asia) and establish pro-American puppet states, military bases, and most likely oil connections in the region. This would benefit NATO and cause worlds of economic and military trouble for the SCO (Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, and so on).

In China, the drug problem was almost completely wiped out in about three years after the communist revolution, but that may have changed after the capitalist roaders took over China. History has shown us the answer to the drug problem, and it has also shown us that neither Taliban rule nor foreign occupation will stop harmful drugs in Afghanistan. What that country needs is a Maoist revolution!

Youth Crime in Argentina

Politicians in Argentina want to lower the age at which juveniles can be tried in court as adults. This is their way of trying to prevent crime committed by minors. But human rights activists claim that the detention facilities for youth aren't ready to address the young people's problems, meaning prisoners will only return to crime when their sentences are over.

The problem needs to be addressed, not suppressed. Young people don't steal and do drugs because they think it's cool, as prejudiced politicians would have you believe they do. There are some people who would do that stuff for fun, but every age group has its bad apples. Young people of the lower social classes steal for the same reason adults do, and that reason is survival. They need money to support their families and themselves, especially in this time of global economic crisis.

The answer is simple. Take away poverty, the reason for crime, and crime will decrease. The only reason Argentine politicians want to be tougher on youth crime is so they can make more money for their national prison-industrial complex. Less arrests and crime means less money for the politicians' masters in the prison-industrial complex.

Something I find hypocritical about the world's status-quo is that it treats the youth as inferior beings every chance it gets, but it treats them as equals when it comes to crime and punishment, but not in the name of equality, but rather so they can punish the youth more severely.

Man Jailed for Yawning

Joliet, Illinois - Clifton Williams sat in court as an observer during his cousin's trial. His cousin had been arrested for drug charges. Williams figured his cousin would end up in jail, but he was wrong, the cousin received two years probation while Williams was sentenced to six months in jail.

As the holier-than-thou Judge Daniel Rozak was sentencing the cousin, Williams yawned. Rozak was offended by this and had Williams sentenced to six months in jail for contempt-of-court charges. Not only was Williams denied a trial by a jury of his peers, he received the maximum sentence! Also, the victim is usually not allowed to take part in the sentencing of the offender. In this case the "victim" was Rozak. So clearly Clifton Williams didn't receive a fair trial. One must ask, how the hell is this legal?

"It seems to me like a yawn is an involuntary action," Clifton Williams' father said.

Of course, the abusive, better-than-you authorities of the court are saying Williams was intentionally trying to disrupt the court, which is something they can't prove! Think about it. There are too many possibilities for what Williams' intentions could have been. Maybe he always yawned loudly at home and simply forgot he was in court for a minute. Maybe he wasn't yawning very loud, but the room made his yawn echo and it seemed louder than intended. Even if it was Williams' intention to disrupt the court, six months is way too harsh for an immature yawn.

We must also take into consideration that the criminal Judge Rozak issues contempt-of-court charges at a higher rate than any judge in his county. So either Rozak is an insecure jerk, some kind of drug or alcohol addict (because that can lead to irritability and nasty decisions like this one), or he is being paid, in one way or another, to send people to jail regardless of whether or not they deserve it.

I demand that Judge Rozak be fired and stripped of his ability and rights to work in court as a judge, lawyer, or anything else. I also demand that Rozak be thoroughly drug tested without prior notice, and that his financial and personal records be thoroughly investigated. If the slightest imperfection is found, he should be given the maximum sentence. Judging is one of the most useless and elitist professions out there, and it should be abolished because of that.

Somalia and Africom

There was an understated news report on the BBC yesterday which informed viewers that Hillary Clinton was threatening Eritrea with 'action'. The US is accusing Eritrea of supporting the insurgents against what the BBC characterizes as Somalia's 'unity government', and promising more weapons for its clients. Clinton claims that the 'al-Shahab' insurgents are liable to become a "threat" to the United States and "launch attacks against countries far and near". That rootless, worldwide conspiracy against freedom just will not go to bed.

It's important to clarify a couple of terms here, though. First of all, many of the 'insurgents' were once the government of Somalia, but were overthrown by CIA-funded warlords and a US-backed Ethiopian invasion. You may recall that this created a humanitarian catastrophe that the UN was moved to described as 'worse than Darfur' (some historical background here). Secondly, the 'unity government', as the BBC acknowledges, only controls a small section of Mogadishu - which means it isn't a government, and unites no one. (It seems rather odd that an entity backed by the immense power of the United States could be placed in such a difficult position by Eritrea. They've given millions of dollars and over forty tonnes of weapons to their clients, and yet are undone by the alleged illicit activities of a tiny neighboring state?) The only thing that makes it a 'unity government' is that it incorporates 'moderate' elements of the old Islamic Courts Union. Apart from that, it evidently has no popular support whatsoever. Ironically, given the hysteria about Somali pirates, it is worth noting that this 'unity government' is far less effective at dealing with piracy than their Islamist opponents were.

The 21st Century scramble for Africa is taking us to some very strange and ugly departures. The US estimates that in six years, a quarter of its oil will come from Africa, but the trouble is that - as the establishment Committee on Foreign Relations complained some years back - China is doing a good job of getting its foot in the door. So, America responded by forming Africom, initially as a subdivision of Eucom and then, by October last year, as an independent command. Just on the off chance that anyone doesn't get this, Africom is specifically charged with running military operations in 53 African states. That is it's job. It's formation consolidated a conscious drive to increase military intervention into the continent. Now the main vector for US aggression in Africa, it was initially justified by 'war on terror' conspiracy theory. The anthropologist Jeremy Keenan points out that, while Africom clearly represents a militarised drive to control strategically important, resource-rich areas of the continent, the initial rationale for its creation was a lie. Specifically, it was set up allegedly in response to a faked 'terrorist' kidnapping that was actually carried out by Algerian intelligence, and which the Bush administration used to prove that there was a 'swamp of terror' that need drained. That spurious policy justification established, the US has been able to plant its troops at strategic points on the continent the better to intimidate and terrorize anyone who gets in their way. And now little Eritrea is threatened with having its lights punched out.

There's Something Rotten in Georgia

Recently Twitter, Facebook, and LiveJournal were all damaged by a denial-of-service attack aimed at one Georgian blogger. The blogger's name is Georgy, but he is better known by the alias Cyxymu. He is a 34-year-old economics lecturer and long time critic of Russian foreign policy in the Caucasus region.

Cyxymu, as well as many others, believe the denial-of-service attack carried out against him was done to silence his criticism of Russia. He has even accused the hackers who attacked him of carrying out cyber-terrorism upon orders from the Kremlin.

"Maybe it was carried out by ordinary hackers but I'm certain the order came from the Russian government," Cyxymu said.

Cyxymu, as well as some reporters, estimate that he was known to about 500 people or less before the attack. Now, because of the cyber attacks, he is known to millions of people worldwide. Some large media companies have even done interviews with him.

"I didn't expect that it would be an attack on me, I'm not such a famous blogger," he said. "It started when hundreds of thousands of spam emails supposedly from me were sent all over the world suggesting for people to visit one of my blogs. So thousands of people visited it causing it to freeze, and they [LiveJournal] had to block it again. Then the same thing happened with Facebook and Twitter."

Cyxymu said he started blogging in order to unite ethnic Georgians who lived in Sukhumi but had to leave as refugees in 1993 when Abkhazia seceded from Georgia. "When the war started in South Ossetia last year I couldn't avoid being drawn into politics," the Georgian blogger said.

Am I the only one who finds this to be fishy? He wasn't famous, and now he is because of the attack. He even stated that the cyber attacks were carried out in a manner that generated visitors for his blog (see the fifth paragraph). I think Cyxymu/Georgy attacked himself in order to get publicity. He may have had help doing it. Maybe the help with this publicity stunt came from the Georgian government! The Saakashvili administration has a history of telling lies about being attacked in order to gain sympathy, so I wouldn't be surprised if they helped that stupid little blogger for propaganda purposes. It's almost like when somebody fakes being hurt or dead in order to get attention.

Another thing I find suspicious is that Georgy spoke to The Guardian (a British news service) from an office in Tbilisi (Georgia's capital)! He must have been discussing the "attack" and future plans with Georgian government and security officials.

Why would Moscow waste money and resources on a small-time blogger? On top of that, why would they attack him in a way that would give him publicity? They could have just killed him and made it look like an accident. Then his blog wouldn't get any attention and he would be silenced. Oh, and the Russians wouldn't risk catching hell from the world for screwing with three of the top social networking websites.

In conclusion, I consider the "attack" on this Georgian blogger to be one of the biggest hoaxes of 2009. It was clearly a publicity stunt of some kind.

Jim Cramer Has It Wrong Again

The following is an excerpt from an email sent out by a group called American Rights At Work.

Just before Bear Stearns went under, CNBC's Jim Cramer had strong advice for his "Mad Money" viewers: buy Bear Stearns stock, and fast!

Then the company imploded and thousands of ordinary people saw their retirement savings vanish. Oops.

Now Cramer is telling his viewers the Employee Free Choice Act will hurt the US economy.

Cramer was wrong then, he's wrong now! But this time we know exactly what will happen if viewers listen: millions will lose out financially.

Jim Cramer is claiming that the Employee Free Choice Act will stall the US economy, even though numerous economists (including Nobel-prize winners!) and institutional investors who manage $757 billion in assets recognize that the bill is critical to rebuilding the broken economy.

The former hedge fund manager has called the Employee Free Choice Act a "sword of Damocles" hanging over our economy. And on the MSNBC show Morning Joe, Cramer and other guests claimed they couldn't identify a single successful unionized company.

Oops! GE owns both MSNBC and Jim Cramer's own employer, CNBC. And guess what? GE’s employees are represented by unions. The company is worth over $140 billion. And it earned more than $18 billion in profits in 2008!

Cramer reaches millions of people each week on his CNBC show "Mad Money." Many of them make financial decisions based on his declarations. That means he has a responsibility to do his research and give sound, accurate advice.

Jim Cramer needs to stop parroting the talking points of the same greedy CEOs who got us into this economic crisis.

Anti-Health Care Reform = Terrorism

As I've said on my blog before, I don't think the Democrats' idea of health care reform is the best. I don't think it goes far enough to serve the people, but let's take a look at some people who are going way too far with their opinions on this issue.

Right-wing protesters have hanged effigies of Democratic Congressmen. Many will argue that this is just a harmless act of protest, and I would agree, but these symbolic displays are connected to actions and people who are very harmful. For example, there have been reports of death threats being sent to Democrats in Congress who support health care reform. One of the Democrats who received a death threat is Brad Miller (D-NC). One Democrat, who has remained anonymous so far, was physically attacked at a local town hall meeting. These actions by opponents of health care reform remind me of the things the Nazi SA brownshirts used to do.

"The Intelligence Community is guided by the definition of terrorism contained in Title 22 of the US Code, Section 2656f(d):

* The term "terrorism" means premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents."

"Terrorism, noun: the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear."

So this proves that the recent actions carried out by right-wingers count as terrorist actions. Every good terrorist group needs at least one person or organization to lead them, unless you want to count them as "lone-wolf terrorists" (look that term up, it's real). Those leaders are the Republican Party and the companies, organizations, and individual media talk-show personalities (disinfotainers) that support the GOP on the health care issue and say things that encourage people to carry out these acts of terrorism. Republicans once briefly mentioned setting up a Taliban-like insurgency in the US, and now they are carrying it out. Congratulations conservatives, you've become just like the supposed "terrorists" in the Middle East. How does hypocrisy feel?

If you took part in these right-wing anti-health care reform actions, then you are a terrorist! All local and national leaders of this right-wing extremist movement should be put on trial for terrorism like the criminals that they are, but not by the current government nor the Democrats. The Democrats and their precious Obama are just as bad, and, as a matter of fact, are worse now that they control the White House. They should be put on trial too.

In order to do this, in order to put these criminals on trial, we need a revolution, and I don't mean just random acts of violence. I mean an organized uprising of the people and for the people that will serve the masses of the world (as opposed to harming them like terrorists/conservatives). A revolution that will bring the terrorist Republican leaders and their pseudo-leftist Democrat counterparts to justice. And no, this isn't terrorism on my part because I'm advocating a legitimate revolution by the people that will put the enemy leaders in a prison and on trial as opposed to making threats of extrajudicial killings and beating people up.

Olbermann Exposes the Hypocrisy of the Republicans and "Blue Dog" Democrats

Keith Olbermann is back from his summer vacation. He has been back for a few days actually, but that isn't my point here.

At the end of this paragraph there is a video by The Young Turks which you should watch if you haven't seen it already. The video uses clips from Countdown with Keith Olbermann to review Olbermann's recent attacks on Republicans and Democrats regarding the health care issue. Olbermann tells his viewers how much money certain Republicans and Democrats are being paid by the private health care providers, hospitals, and pharmaceutical industry. Obviously this private-sector buyout is the reason these political-pigs are against health care reform. So Olbermann has used his show to effectively expose the hypocrisy of the Blue Dog Democrats and Republicans.



Now, in my personal opinion, I don't think the Democrats' (bourgeois liberal) idea of health care reform goes far enough. So I'm providing this video that I made. It's kind of relevant.

Obama's Birth Certificate Has Been Found!

The birther movement has found Obama's birth certificate... sort of.

These crazy right-wing extremists, known as "birthers," claim to have found Obama's original Kenyan birth certificate. Unfortunately for them, it's filled with errors and inaccuracies, which means the "Kenyan" birth certificate is fake.

The first problem with the obviously forged certificate of birth is that it says "Republic of Kenya" on it. Kenya was a dominion, not a republic, when Obama was born. So that wasn't the country's proper name back then. In case you're a Republican, and therefore too stupid to know what I'm saying, it means that, for reasons regarding laws and things too complicated for you to understand, Kenya couldn't call itself a republic back then.

Mombasa is the place the fake certificate says Obama was born in. Mombasa wasn't part of Kenya during the time of Obama's birth. It was in Zanzibar. Not only that, but the forgery confuses Kenyan districts with provinces.

The fake birth certificate also lacks a doctor's signature. The scrap paper does have an official's signature though. Strangely, the official is named "E. F. Lavender," which is also the name of a laundry detergent. So it's obvious that some Republican idiot was sitting around, yelling at his kids for no reason, beating his wife, drinking beer, masturbating to pictures of Palin and Coulter, forging a Kenyan birth certificate, you know, typical conservative stuff, when he happened to glance upon his laundry detergent. He then figured out what he wanted to name his imaginary Kenyan official.

The registration number on the certificate is 47O44. Obama is 47 years old, and he is the 44th US President. The O stands for Obama. Come on! How uncreative was this forger? Apparently very uncreative.

Even Karl Rove said this document is fake.

When discussing American history and the whites' conquest of North America, the conservatives always say to First/Native Americans ("Indians") who want land or rights, "You lost, get over it." They even say, "You lost, get over it," to communists, despite the fact that the communist movement is going quite strong in Latin America, India, and Nepal to name a few places. Well, you conservatives can go back to your Ku Klux Klan meetings and share what I'm about to type with your whole group.

British Nationalists Resort to Terrorism

Right-wing extremists in the United Kingdom have launched a terror campaign against anti-racist activists. So far the campaign has included death threats and physical attacks.

These hardheaded (and small-brained) Nazis are attacking students and anti-fascist activists who openly campaigned against the BNP during the European elections in June.

A group calling itself the Aryan Martyrs' Brigade issued a death threat to Weyman Bennett, a top member of Unite Against Fascism, saying they'd assassinate him by the end of the year "for crimes against all loyal white patriots and British nationalists."

The death threat included a picture of Bennett in cross hairs. The threat said: "We know exactly what you look like and what venues you frequent and can strike at will. The police, special branch, MI5, Searchlight cannot save you from the bullets coming your way. No matter where you are, we will get you, all we need is a lock on your mobile phone signal and you are one dead nigger."

"There has definitely been an upsurge in attacks and intimidation since the European elections," said Bennett. "The fringe right-wing groups appeared to be on their best behavior when the BNP were campaigning but once the election was over they seem to be trying to take their revenge on those of us who were prominent in the anti-fascist campaign."

"Standing up against people like the BNP you do sometimes get verbal threats and intimidation but this appears to be more serious," Bennett said. "I don't intend to stop organizing anti-racism events or confronting the fascists in the BNP but something like this does make me think more about my personal security."

Police are currently investigating the threat against Bennett.

Other anti-fascist activists have received threatening emails. One activist was attacked when his picture was posted on a hit list on a fascist website. The Nazis often call these hit lists "Jew Watches" or "Red Watches" (sometimes spelled "Redwatches").

Gary McNally, another anti-racist activist, was attacked about 200 yards from his home by Nazis. The Nazis had seen his picture on a Red Watch (hit list) that included the phrase, "Remember places, traitors' faces, they'll all pay for their crimes."

"... the BNP put on this respectable front but I suppose this is the reality of what happens if you publicly stand up and disagree with them," said McNally.

When groups like AntiFA use violence the right-wingers cry that they're being victimized, that left-wingers are violating their freedom of speech. But now look what the right-wing is doing. They're attacking people who disagree with White Nationalism. This is hypocrisy, and this alone proves that White Nationalists, fascists, Nationalists, Nazis, whatever you want to call them, are a bunch of liars, terrorists, and haters of free thought.

The Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades (AAMB), the armed forces of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and the National Resistance Brigades, the military wing of the Democratic Front, claimed responsibility on Sunday, July 26, 2009 for firing upon bulldozers and occupation military trucks east of Beit Hanoun.

In addition, on Friday, July 24, AAMB shot at occupation soldiers leaving a military jeep, injuring one of the Israeli soldiers, as confirmed by the Israelis, in the area east of Beit Hanoun at 7:50 PM.

Both brigades pledged to continue the resistance so long as the occupation and aggression against Palestinian people continues, stressing that they would remain watchful eyes protecting the homeland and the Palestinian people from the occupier and his crimes.

Hundreds of protesters took to the streets last week to protest against US President Barack Obama’s meeting with Philippine President Arroyo. The protesters marched towards the American embassy where they had a brief scuffle with police, but they eventually reached the main gates of the US embassy.

=== CPI-Maoist New Plan Document Says to Expand Struggle ===

The Indian Maoists have introduced new plans for their people’s war in a recent document circulating around the party. The Maoist document basically says the cadres and masses need to intensify and expand their struggle against the Indian ruling class. At the same time, the document criticizes the mistakes made by the LTTE, a recently defeated rebel group in Sri Lanka, and continued by saying that the Maoists should avoid making the same mistakes LTTE did.

The Maoist rebels’ document says they should “create more difficulties to the enemy forces by expanding our guerilla war to new areas and intensifying the mass resistance in the existing areas so as to disperse the enemy forces over a sufficiently wider area.”

=== Nepali Maoists Update ===

After weeks of discussion, the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) has finally endorsed the political dossier put forth by Chairman, and former Prime Minister, Prachanda. The revised dossier stresses drafting a new constitution for Nepal that will better serve the people. The eventual aim is to establish a People’s Republic in Nepal. The dossier also states that the Maoists will lead a revolt against the current government if corruption and conspiracies do not allow the new constitution to be written in a manner that will pave the way for a people’s republic.

Maoist secretariat member Post Bahadur Bogati told the press on Thursday that the party believed the people will eventually revolt against the status-quo and Maoists will lead that revolt against the system.

=== South Korean Factory Occupation ===

Workers at the S. Korean Ssangyong motors, who began to occupy their plant in May, are still at it, still occupying the plant. Since the company cut off the water supplies to the plant, supporters have been bringing water to the workers. Unfortunately, a bunch of hired thugs from the company have been trying to stop people from doing so, while the police just look the other way. Concerned citizens, pro-labor groups, and church groups have started camping outside of the factory in order to help the workers occupying the plant and keep watch over the negotiations.
